Bandung a.k.a shopping haven

En route to Bali I had to stop in Bandung for a good eight hours at least. Stop at the airport? me? Nah! I headed out to explore Bandung for a few hours so this one will be short and sweet.

I left my stuff with Amy and after some wonderful advice from one of the staff members at a cafe I wandered out of the airport to try and find a taxi away from the airport. A few metres away I found a non-airport one for a fraction of the price. Bonus!

Everyone always talks of 'Jeans St' so I headed there, to find a huge array of not only jeans but a mish mash of market type goods, tailors and guns.

Unfortunately, I didn't capture all the shopping highlights but was in awe of these huge characters dotted around.

For some reason this just doesn't quite fit in with the rest of the architecture

This airport cafe was our home for the entire wait. They were nice enough not to kick us out but we did spend a pretty penny.

While this is short and sweet...look out for Bandung part two as i'd like to visit some more of the outlets and the surrounding volcanic areas. We met a lovely girl named Elise who advised on plenty to go and see and do in Bandung, so watch this space.
